Save the Snack Pack: Help Rescued Kittens Get Medical Care

Donation protected

We're Xan and Dez, and we're raising funds for the care of Lady Gray's Snack Pack, the kittens we rescued on 5/3/2026. Because the feral mother's nickname was tea related, they ended up with food names: Muffin (tux), Biscuit (blond), Chai (torti), Cake (calico), and little Toast (tabby). Though they're a temporary addition to our family, we love them very much, and have been caring for them since we found them.

But something changed on Sunday morning, when I noticed Toast was sleeping more than she should. They just reached 8 weeks old and were doing well until this point. Toast, as usual, was ahead of the curve.

Toast is the precocious one. She was practicing walking when the others were crawling. She stole solid food from her mother first. She escaped the baby box, and then the baby pen. She's always been the most energetic, and does everything before her siblings--so it only makes sense that she got sick first. She developed a fever, and stopped eating. All she wanted to do was nap. Attempts to get Gray to feed her failed, and she wasn't interested in trying.

Despite our financial situation, we took her to the vet, to the tune of $900. They gave her fluids and antibiotics, did some imaging and blood tests, and found nothing wrong. Just feverish, and a little dehydrated. She spent Monday in a box on my desk, napping, being fed by syringe when she'd allow it. By that night, three of the other four were showing the same symptoms, with Biscuit being the worst off. All the same signs. Not into food or treats. Just wanting to sleep. Only Muffin was spared; he's still bobbling around like the little unit he is. We're hoping he stays that way.

Weights this morning were not encouraging. The sick ones lost an average of 50g, and Biscuit alone lost 85g. We've gotten a few of them to nurse, but Biscuit has to be syringe-fed at the moment, and isn't a fan of it. He's got a fever, so he's staying close to me while we try to arrange another vet visit.

Luckily, Toast was alert again this morning, though still less hungry. Our hope is that the medication the vet gave her helped.

While we are working with a rescue to get their forever homes, we're on our own for their care until then. We don't want to risk their lives hoping this is something that will blow over, so we're hoping to raise enough to cover vet visits and medicine for the remaining 3, praying that Muffin doesn't get sick.

The plan is to take the others in for treatment, with the hope we can skip the tests, since they all clearly have the same bug. The entire treatment plus testing was $900, assuming Toast doesn't need more care. Ideally, we'd like enough to make sure if they need the tests, we can cover it for them all. And if Muffin starts to slide, we want him to have the same care. Every cent we can raise will go toward their vet bills.

We already had our hands full with special needs animals before we took these poor babies in, and we want them to recover, so they can go back to climbing jeans and stealing shoes.

If you can help us get them the care they need, we would be eternally grateful. Every one of these babies is someone's friend just waiting to meet them. We want to get them there.
