Save The Showbox: Aid for Flood Recovery and Staff

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

We’re The Showbox, a cherished local movie theater in Hopkinsville, Kentucky—proudly veteran-owned and a cornerstone of our community. Sadly, the recent storms have left us underwater (literally). Devastating floods have forced us to shut down, damaging our building, ruining equipment, and leaving our team without work.

We’re heartbroken—but not defeated.

While we’re grateful that FEMA will help with some of the building repairs, that doesn’t account for:
- Lost wages for our employees (who rely on us to make ends meet)
- Months of lost business income (with no way to reopen until repairs are done)
- Critical equipment replacements (projectors, sound systems, seating, etc.)

While we are insured, we’re not in a flood plain, we were never covered in case of flooding—and now, without extra help, we risk closing forever.

This theater isn’t just a business—it’s where memories are made. First dates, family outings, summer movie nights… we’ve been part of Hopkinsville’s story for years, and we don’t want that to end.

Can you help us rise above the flood?
Every dollar goes toward:
✔️ Paying our staff during this crisis
✔️ Repairing the building and replacing damaged equipment
✔️ Keeping The Showbox alive for future generations

We’ve weathered storms before, but we can’t do this one alone. If you’ve ever enjoyed a movie with us, shared popcorn with friends, or just believe in supporting small businesses—please donate or share this campaign.

Together, we can rewrite this story with a happy ending.

With gratitude,
The Showbox
