I cannot tell you all the challenges that Zante Strays has faced over the last 18 months. From storms battering and ripping through the shelter, to locals poisoning and shooting dogs, to Brexit, to covid, to unprecedented numbers of dogs being abandoned and left to suffer terribly. They’ve seen and been through it all.

It costs a staggering £4,000 each month to just keep the 125 dogs in their care fed and alive. They cover the vet bills (currently £25k bill outstanding and many dogs being rescued that are very sick), and totally volunteer-run they also rely solely on donations from their supporters.

In the words of head volunteer, Jamie, “things have never been so bad”.

Supplies and funds are running out and they need help urgently.
