Save the Scottish Hills Diving Boards

Hi Scottish Hills Members

As you all know, our small diving board broke at the start of the swim season. It was terrible timing for the Sea Lions Dive Team and for all the kids who like the smaller of the two diving boards. We were able to add a support to the larger diving board to ensure it was safe for this season but we know this support will only extend its life for 1-2 more seasons. A lot of research and consultation with experts has been done and Wake county has signed off on a replacement of the current equipment, however, that repair is not feasible in our current operating budget. The cost to replace the support of both boards, to ensure they are safe for many years to come, is $15,000. This is a very expensive fix for our Club but one that we feel should be prioritized and achieved prior to the opening of the pool next season.
