Save The Sarasota Highland Games

The Sarasota Highland Games have been part of Sarasota for 27 years. And I am looking for some help from my community to keep it going. The Scottish Heritage Society's purpose is to create awareness through education and promotion of Scottish history, heritage, and culture to the community at large. The Scottish Heritage Society of Sarasota, Inc. is a 501(c)3 established in 1993, is a non-profit corporation.

Did you know that The Scots Landed on Sarasota Bay on December 23, 1885.
Then in 1902 the “Sarasota Village” becomes “Township of Sarasota”. In 1985 we had our 100th Birthday and received the Sandstone Pillar from Former Glasgow Kirk Signifies (Church) the Strength of the Bond between Our Two Cities. We had a Parade and I happened to be in the Kiltie Band at that time and got to march down Main Street. This Sandstone Pillar used to be in Front of Patrick’s when it was at 5 Forks. But in 2013 it was moved to Gulfstream, and it is still there today. Also, the blue brick represents where the water was when they landed in 1885.
en they landed in 1885.
