Hi, my name is Rosie and I am fundraising on behalf of my friend Kate and her parents who are at risk of loosing their home due to finances. 

With both parents being unable to work due to her father being unwell with kidney disease, diabetes, bone deterioration and other conditions. This has led her mother to be a full time carer despite having medical conditions of her own. This leads to their daughter Kate taking care of both her parents whilst trying to navigate her own medical and mental health challenges. 

This unfortunately leads to the Rivera family remaining unemployed and struggling to pay off their monthly bills and taxes which are ever growing and rising. With an income of only $1,300 for a family of 3 and monthly bills the Rivera’s are constantly struggling and having to choose compromises between food, electricity, WiFi and other bills. This has overtime led to the family not purchasing new clothes in over half a decade wearing clothes with holes in, using broken devises and often loosing contact with family and friends online. 

 At this moment the Rivera family owe $1000 in taxes which have to be paid within the month in order to keep their house. Without this money, the family risk loosing their house and living on the streets despite their medical and health conditions. 

 I must stress that the Rivera family struggle to buy food after paying off their monthly bills, with approximately $20 to stretch over 4 weeks it is almost impossible to feed the family, meet bills and afford new clothes and other essentials. On this occasion, the Rivera family have “hit rock bottom” and cannot afford to pay their taxes, bills and essentials alongside their $1000 on top of pre existing debt and low income, it is likely they will loose their house and become homeless as they once was before. 

 The Rivera family have tried to fundraise, ask for help and seek support from organisations however they have been turned away to a high demand

The Rivera family have been nothing but kind and caring to me over the years and it breaks my heart to see them in such a position where they could loose their home and become homeless despite having medical needs.
