Help Save the Maple Leaf Cheese Plant
The 25 farmer-owned Maple Leaf Cheese Cooperative founded in 1910 has lost its cheesemaking partner and markets and its plant will be shut down on December 11. The Co-op plans to reopen its cheese plant by spring and has a bold vision for both new cheeses and a new brand.
The Co-op needs your help to meet its immediate, unexpected obligations—heating the plant and covering emergent utility bills, insurance, taxes, legal fees etc.
