The 25 farmer-owned Maple Leaf Cheese Cooperative founded in 1910 has lost its cheesemaking partner and markets and its plant will be shut down on December 11. The Co-op plans to reopen its cheese plant by spring and has a bold vision for both new cheeses and a new brand.
The Co-op needs your help to meet its immediate, unexpected obligations—heating the plant and covering emergent utility bills, insurance, taxes, legal fees etc.
Please stand with us. Every contribution—no matter the level—is a vote of confidence in the Co-op and our farmer members, the community, and the future of small family dairy farms in Green County and the State of Wisconsin. Your support will make a huge difference and is deeply appreciated.
