Save The Magnetic Theatre

The Magnetic Theatre has been a home for original work in Asheville for more than a decade, and has supported hundreds of writers, actors, directors, designers and technicians, as well as a myriad of small and emerging partner companies. Now, after the worst 18 months that many of us can remember, Magnetic is at risk of closing and we need your help to keep the theatre alive.
Magnetic needs to raise $15,000 by October 30th, in order to stay afloat. We’re asking for your help, because we want to keep our space, pay our artists and continue to create innovative theatre for decades to come.
Your gift today supports the following Magnetic programs:
- Mainstage Season of 6-8 new plays
- Sideshow Series - Off Night / Late Night Shows from local artists
- New Play Development Program featuring local playwrights and emerging authors from around the world
- Magnetic in the Smoky Park - Tuesday night variety show featuring local musicians, comedians, performance artists, etc.
- Wandering with Magnetic - Outdoor shows in local parks
In addition to those programs, we keep our ticket prices low and provide affordable rental space for local artists and companies, such as The Asheville Fringe Arts Festival, Asheville Performing Arts Academy, Asheville Creative Arts, Anam Cara Theatre, Nemesis Theatre Company, Drag Queen Delighted Tobehere, Speakeasy Improv, Modelface Comedy, and so many more.
If Magnetic closes, we’ll lose the place where so much creative connectivity happens in this town. None of us wants that to happen. So we’re asking for your help...as artists, as community members, as friends, as our Magnetic family. Any amount is impactful and we’re so grateful for any contribution you can make. Now more than ever, we need the arts in our community, to bind us together, to keep us hopeful and strong.
