Hi Everyone,

My name is Daniel Atlabachew, and I’m reaching out to you once more with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit. For the past year, I’ve been fighting a relentless battle against acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Thanks to your incredible support, I was able to undergo a life-saving bone marrow transplant at Apollo Hospital in India earlier this year.

During my treatment, I faced countless rounds of chemotherapy, each one more grueling than the last. The side effects were excruciating, and the journey was filled with pain and uncertainty. Each day was a struggle, and despite my efforts and the medical team’s best efforts, the fight was far from easy.

After the transplant, I was initially doing well. I began to regain my strength, and my family and fiancée were overjoyed to see positive changes in my health. For a while, it felt like we were on the path to recovery, and I was so grateful for every bit of progress.

But sadly, the joy was short-lived. After returning to Ethiopia, I began experiencing severe bone pain, and despite ongoing treatment, my condition has worsened. Recent tests have confirmed that the AML has relapsed.

When I received the horrific news that the blast cells had returned to my blood, it was a crushing blow. When the AML relapse was finally confirmed, it felt like a cruel twist of fate. The thought of enduring the same painful treatments all over again is almost unbearable. The anguish of knowing that all the progress and strength I fought so hard to regain might be lost is overwhelming.

In the past, I have faced life-threatening incidents during treatment, but with God’s grace, I managed to pull through. I am holding onto that same grace and faith now as I confront this new challenge.

Now, the doctors are recommending a second bone marrow transplant which is incredibly costly and far beyond what we can afford. Our previous funds have been exhausted, and we find ourselves in urgent need of support once again.

We have a plan in place to move forward, but we need your help to make it a reality. Your support and prayers have been a lifeline throughout this journey, and we are reaching out to you once more, asking for any assistance you can provide. Your kindness has given me strength before, and we’re relying on that support once again as we face this difficult time.

ዳንኤል አጥላባቸው እባላለሁ

ተስፋ ባዘለ መንፈስ እጅግ በተከፋሁበት ሁኔታ በድጋሚ ከፊታችሁ ልቆም መጥቻለሁ። እንደምታውቁት ላለፉት አመታት አኪዩት ማይሎይድ ሉኪሚያ (AML) ከተሰኘ ህመም ለመዳን የእናንተ ድጋፍ ታክሎበት ጥረት ሳደርግ ነበር። በተሰበሰበልኝ ድጋፍ በዚህ አመት መጀመሪያ ላይ በህንድ አፖሎ ሆስፒታል የአጥንት መቅኒ ንቅለ ተከላ ማድረግ ችያለሁ።

በህክምናዬ ወቅት ስፍር ቁጥር የሌላቸው የኬሞቴራፒ ሕክምናዎች አድርጌአለሁ፤ ለመዳን ካለኝ ጉጉት ከህመም ጋር እየታገልኩ ሁሉንም ከስቃይ ጋር አሳልፌአለሁ። የጎንዮሽ ጉዳቶቹ እጅግ አስከፊ እና አስጨናቂ ነበሩ። እያንዳንዱ ጉዞዬ በህመም እና እርግጠኛ ባልሆነ ሁኔታ ነገር ግን በተስፋ የተሞላ ነበር። እያንዳንዱ ቀን ጭንቀት፣ ህመምእና ተስፋን አዝሎ እስከዛሬዋ ቀን ድረስ ተጉዣለሁ። የህክምና ቡድን አባላቶች ከፍተኛ ጥረት ቢያደርጉም ህክምናው ቀላል አልነበረም። በህንድ አፖሎ ሆስፒታል ከተደረገልኝ ህክምና በኋላ መጀመሪያ ጤናዬ በጥሩ ሁኔታ ላይ ነበር። ተስፋዬን ሰንቄ ጥንካሬዬ እየጎላ ነገዬን ማለም ጀመርኩ። ቤተሰቤ፣ እጮኛዬ ፣ ጓደኞቼ እና የስራ ባልደረቦቼ በጤናዬ ላይ አዎንታዊ ለውጦች በማየታቸው በጣም ተደስተው ነበር። እያገገምኩ እንዳለሁ ተሰማኝ። በእያንዳንዱ ለውጥ ፈጣሪዬን አመሰገንኩ። ውሎ ሲያድር ግና ደስታዬ አጭር ሆነ! ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ከተመለስኩ በኋላ በድጋሚ ከባድ የአጥንት ህመም ይሰማኝ ጀመር! ህክምና እየተደረገልኝ ቢሆንም ህመሜ ተባባሰበኝ። ህመሜ በድጋሚ እንዳገረሸ የህክምና ባለሞያዎች አረጋገጡልኝ።

ይህን ዜና ስሰማ በጣም አስደንጋጭ ነበር።

እጣ ፋንታዬን አማረረኩ! ተስፋ ለሰነቀ ለእንደኔ አይነት ወጣት ስሜቱ ከባድ ነው

በድጋሚ ተመሳሳይ የሆኑ ስቃያቸውን የማስታውሳቸው ሕክምናዎችን እንደገና ለመከወን እና ህክምናውን ለመታገስ ማሰብ ፈጽሞ የማይቻል ነው። በጥንካሬ የታገልኩለት ህልሜ፤ ጤናዬን ለመመለስ የመጣሁበት መንገድ እንዲሁ ሊቀር እንደሚችል ማሰብ በጣም ከባድ ነው።

ቀደም ባሉት ጊዜያት በሕክምና ወቅት ለሕይወት አስጊ የሆኑ ሁኔታዎች አጋጥመውኝ ነበር። ነገር ግን በእግዚአብሔር ቸርነት ማለፍ ችያለሁ። ዛሬም የሰው ልጅ ባለው አዲስ ቀን እና ተስፋ ይህን አዲስ ፈተና ስጋፈጥ ያንኑ ጸጋ እና እምነት አሁንም ይዣለሁ። ወዳጆቼ ሆይ...

በአሁን ሰዓት ዶክተሮቹ ውድ እና ከአቅማችን በላይ የሆነ ሁለተኛ ዙር የአጥንት መቅኒ ንቅለ ተከላ እንዲደረግ አዘዋል። የቀድሞ ገንዘቦቻችን ተሟጠዋል! በድጋሚ የእናንተን አስቸኳይ ድጋፍ እንፈልጋለሁ።

ህይወቴን ለመታደግ በሚደረገው ሕክምና የእርስዎ ድጋፍ እና ጸሎት አስፈላጊ ናቸው። እናም ልታደርጉልኝ የምትችሉትን ማንኛውንም እርዳታ በመጠየቅ በድጋሚ ከፊታቹ ቆሜአለሁ። ደግነታችሁ ከዚህ በፊት እንደሰጠኝ ተስፋ እና ብርታት ሁሉ ዛሬም ይህን አስቸጋሪ ጊዜ አብራችሁኝ እንድት ቆሙ በእግዚአብሔር ስም በመማፀን ነው።

በህክምና ጉዞዬ አብራችሁኝ እስከዛሬ ያልተለያችሁኝ ወገኖቼ ምስጋናዬ ታላቅ ነው። ዛሬም የምታደርጉልኝ እያንዳንዱ ነገር ለእኔ ትልቅ ተስፋን የሰነቀ አለም ነው። እናም ይህንን ከባድ የህይወት ፈተና ለማሸነፍ በተስፋ እና በቆራጥነት እቆያለሁ።
