Save the Liberty Place home that restored lives for 40 years

  • Help us secure a home that has a 40 year outreach legacy of serving the urgent needs of its community.
Liberty Place is standing at a critical crossroads. For the first time in 40 years, the home that has ministered to children, restored families, sheltered the hurting, and transformed lives through the love of God is at risk of being lost. With the passing of our beloved landlord, we now have a brief window to purchase the home that has carried decades of ministry — or see its legacy come to an end.
We urgently need help to secure this house so the ministry God established here can continue. Your support today protects a 40-year legacy of hope, Christian mentorship, and community outreach — and ensures that lives will continue to be eternally changed by the love of God

  • A Message From Edward
My name is Edward Sowulski, and I serve as the President of Liberty in Christ Ministries, in Fort Worth, Texas. For the past five years, I have been the Ministry Director of Liberty Place, our men’s discipleship home - a place where men in transition, re-entry, homelessness, and recovery find stability, brotherhood, and the love of Christ.
This home has been a refuge of hope for countless men, I have personally witnessed the life changing impact our ministry has had in the lives of those who came to us for help, but its story began long before we arrived.

  • A Home With a 40-Year Legacy of Serving the Community
The house we currently call Liberty Place- has been a ministry home since the 1980s. For over four decades, it has been exclusively set aside for God’s purpose and used by many ministries for:
• Community outreach
• Ministry gatherings
• Helping those in crisis
• Providing shelter, support, and hope to our community

This legacy was stewarded faithfully by our beloved friend and landlord, Mrs. Beverly Burkins, who purchased the home in the 1980s and always used it as a place of ministry. Beverly carried a love for people, for outreach, and a heart for serving the community of the broken and the forgotten.
Since the passing of Mrs. Burkins, we didn’t just lose the property owner of our ministry home - the entire community lost a caring heart who poured light, love, and hope into this community for more than four decades. This house was originally a place where children heard the gospel for the very first time, where families were restored, where neighbors gathered for fellowship, and where the hurting found a home of compassion and prayer. For 35 years before Liberty Place ever stepped into this story, this home already had an amazing testimony and legacy of impacting the lives of many within the community.
Over the last five years, Liberty Place has carried that legacy and added to its testimony by serving men in transition, personal crisis, re-entry, homelessness, and recovery - but we are only the most recent chapter in a much larger story God has been writing here for decades.

  • Why We Must Raise Funds
Since Mrs. Burkins’ passing (our Landlord), we have been given the opportunity - and the responsibility - to purchase the home we have rented for five years.
If we cannot purchase it, we will be forced to leave, and the 40-year legacy of ministry within these walls could come to an end.
This home is unique – for over 40 years it has always been a central location of Christian revival where the community found hope, healing, and the love of Christ.
This home has been a place where community:
• Was Revived in Christ
  • Recovered from Personal Crisis
  • Lives were Rebuilt
  • Families were Restored
  • Urgent Needs were Met
  • Found Purpose and Identity
And through every season, every ministry, and every generation that has passed through these doors, one truth remains:
Lives were eternally changed by the Love of God.

  • Why This Matters
Liberty Place is not just a house - it has been a lifeline to many in our community for decades.
" I have personally watched men walk through our doors over the past 5 years -broken, ashamed, and hopeless... and leave restored, confident, and completely transformed by the love of Christ."
This home has been a place of:
• Prayer
• Healing
• Fellowship
• Stability
• Redemption
And for 40 years, God has used this address to reach people in need.
We are simply asking for help to keep that legacy alive.
