Hi, I’m Shelton Torbert Jr. founder of the Lavish Studios Workspace. For the last 3 years our creative workspace has been a pillar to so many artists and makers in the Huntsville, Alabama community! The last few months have been tough for us financially and we are raising money to help keep the space alive. This space is the birthplace of so many ideas, products, and relationships. It has given so many people an opportunity to showcase their creative gifts, talents, and a place to collaborate with other people. The funds will be used to put towards rent and any excess funds acquired will be used to acquire more tools, resources, and to renovate our space to a place where we can officially start offering a monthly membership subscription, more internship/employment opportunities , have more social events, classes, and potentially even start a industrial grade small batch manufacturing facility for the products that we create! We believe that third spaces such as ours play an important part in bringing the people together and consolidating local resources to improve the overall wellbeing of the community !
