The Farm Gates Are Staying Open

Who loves animals? Who loves cuddly animals? Who loves rescued animals?
Well so does Homestead For Youth! In fact they love all animals so much that they have heaps of them! Who wants to make a difference? Well H4Y already is!

Big ones, little ones and even rescued ones. H4Y is a charity operating from Meelon in the Peel region of WA. Not only do they love animals they love kids even more! And their families!

H4Y was started in 2014 by its founder's Carla and Marty Fadelli. During their 12 years of caring for children they wanted to do more and see more lives changed in a more meaningful way that captured the essence of family, community and took the disengaged and disheartened. So H4Y was birthed.

H4Y offers a unique approach to restoring lives through their many hands on therapies like equine therapy, Kombi Van Restoration Therapy, Arts Therapy, Psychology, Counselling, Mentoring. How do they do this? Through their Mental Health Residential program, and their community therapy programs and not to forget the much loves H4Y Therapy & Sensory Animal Farm. A one of it's kind in W.A.

We not only have clients travel from one end of the state to access our programs but also from the other side of Australia. One parent quoted, "There is just nothing like what H4Y offer anywhere in the country and the results they achieve is amazing. Our family wouldn't be the same if it weren't for the work of Homestead"

"Animals play a big part of the recovery of lives here. When we pair up an animal, particularly an animal with a similar story, with one of our young people they instantly connect and can relate to each other. They then do the journey together" said Angelique du Toit, Residential Manager and Equine Therapist.

H4Y can provide a home for up to 17 teens through our residential care home, 230 clients annually through our Psychology clinic and helping over 280 families  with countless more enjoying the Sensory Animal Farm every year.

But we have an urgent need! We have been actively trying to raise funds to purchase the farm that we operate from and we are nearly there. Thanks to the generosity of the Australian community we have an offer of $1.4 out of the $1.9m. So close but with only $500k to go we are now running out of time.

And so this is our last crowdfunding effort to achieve our target, keep the farm gates open and ensure our much loved animals and their connected young ones can keep their home.

We have always believed that everyone has a purpose. 'Choose Life' & 'Activate Your Purpose' is the message found on the wristbands of all our teens. We believe there are people and business and organisations whose ability to Choose Life for someone else and to activate their 'purpose' at this very time is not necessarily to be on the ground helping with the day to day (but we welcome those who can) but helping be an instrumental part of financing the remaining owed on the farm so our incredible animal helpers and human helpers can keep doing the life transforming work they do each day in the lives of our most vulnerable.

We ask please that the Australian public come together to help us save all lives, as all lives matter, the animals and their human friends who need them.
