For the past 7 years we have homesteaded and practiced sustainable living on the Big Island of Hawaii. We live completely offgrid by using energy from the sun and catching our own rainwater. This land has offered healing and nourishment to our family and the various guests we have hosted over the years

The 18 acres that we call home is also the home of the Bana Kuma which holds sacred each persons right to freedom as holy. This land has also been deemed sacred by the various Kahunas who have visited and told us that it was an ancient "star mapping" site. The land was a place to communicate with the Amakua or ancestors. We feel honored that we have had the opportunity to be stewards of this land. Unfortunately not all people see the land and its proper use the way that we do. For this reason we have been litigated against and have suffered harrasment and property damage from our neighbor. After overcoming the first two cases that he and his wife brought against us we find ourselves having to defend against a third case. Even thought this case is seems to be more a stretch of the law than the first two, each time we are litigated against we are forced to pay legal fees to defend ourselves. With the little income we have and help from our beloved lawyer family, Gary Zambar and Nick Manthey, we have stood our ground and been able to keep the farm flourishing. Defending this 3rd and final lawsuit will bring us the resolution we have been longing for.
We feel our cause is not just for this single piece of land but a statement to the world that things must change and that we all must practice more tollerance. We have not incurred so much as even a police complaint against us. This is truly a situation in which our lifestyle and spiritual orientation has been deemed wrong and therefor punishable by the court. All we ask is that we are allowed to practice our sustainable farming techniques and be able to exersize our first ammendments rights upon the land. In the seven years of our farms existence neither its infrasturcture nor our sustainable practices have caused harm or ill health to a single individual. Instead we have lessened our negative impact on the earth and created a place for healing. This is not a campaign against our neigbor but a step towards the light. Please join us as we strive to make this world a better place for you and our neighbor.
