Due to a long series of unfortunate events, culminating into the final straw after this last Sunday's music festival rainout, we at the Green Door Music Hall are asking for your help, without which we face the proposition of closing our doors for good.
Unfortunately, Larry Cheryl & I have exhausted all our resources, bank accounts & credit during the course of this incredible endeavor that is the Green Door. Much to our disappointment, the rain on Sunday has pushed us into a corner that we fear without the help of the Green Door family & those who love & support the music, we will be shutting the doors within the next few days.
We once again have put all we have plus all we could borrow toward this idea that new music matters and that our Green Door family's music is not only worth listening to, but important to our world; That goes for the kid still learning and just gathering the nerve to get onstage, to the old pros who don't ever want to get off, for the local band pushing our scene, to the national touring act living in the van counting change for gas to the next gig; our music is important.
All of us here have dedicated our day to day life to preserving and spreading this idea in our community; from my business partner Larry Hill a disabled vet who has put up his life savings, to my new wife Cheryl or I who put in countless hours for years now without pay; that we should demand originality in order to push each other furtherand do our best to support our community.
If any of you feel the same way, if any of this resonates, if you support the music, if you want us to continue,
PLEASE HELP; we don't want to stop.
