Help Me Save the Great Barrier Reef Turtles

Sea turtles are precious, more precious than we tend to believe; they are key elements of marine and beach ecosystems, both of which would be weakened beyond recognition if sea turtles ever became extinct.
Yet unaided, stuck or stuffed with plastic, floating cruelly to starvation mere kilometres away from where we live, in waters teeming with predators, sea turtles will eventually perish out there on the Great Barrier Reef.
This is why the Cairns Rehabilitation Centre, a non-profit organization, needs volunteers to come and help with the treasured sea turtles- and why I want to volunteer with them! The program runs all year long and allows the volunteers to help for a minimum of one week, but my goal would be to stay there for four.
However, I need money to cover the cost of the program; my hope is that this fundraiser is going to support my enrolment, for as long as possible, in this wonderful project to preserve the fragile equilibrium of marine ecosystems.
I’m reaching out to see if anybody else feels a twitch in their moral compass upon reading these facts, and wishes to support me in the quest to help these quiet, imperial beings who’ve thrived in our oceans for 150 billion years.
The money donated will cover the cost of flights, accommodation, food and all additional fees included in the volunteer program.
