My name is Khaled Elhammami. For nearly 20 years, I dedicated my life to serving others as a Finance, HR, and Operations Manager for international humanitarian organizations (INGOs) in Gaza, ensuring aid reached those in desperate need.

Today, following the catastrophic destruction of my home and life in Gaza, I find myself on the other side of the crisis—struggling to save my own family of six.

We managed to evacuate Gaza and reach Cairo, Egypt, in late April 2024.

While we survived the immediate danger, our struggle for survival, dignity, and health has only intensified due to strict legal, financial, and medical challenges:

1. Critical Family Medical Crises:My 20-year-old son: Recently underwent complex open-heart surgery in Cairo. Following the operation, he tragically developed severe epilepsy and memory loss, requiring intensive, ongoing post-operative neurological care and medication.My 19-year-old son: Suffers from hemiplegia (paralysis) and requires a highly stable, accessible environment and continuous specialized medical support to cope with his condition.

2. Legal & Financial Stranded Status in Egypt:

As Palestinians in Egypt, we are legally barred from securing official residency permits or formal work authorization, leaving us with zero income since August 2024.

To evacuate my family, I had to borrow a staggering $25,000 USD in high-interest debts. While I managed to repay $8,000 from my past salary, I am still heavily burdened with a remaining debt of $17,000 USD, facing potential legal consequences and police pursuit if left unpaid.

3. Our Professional and Relocation Goals:I am not asking for charity, but for a lifeline to restore our dignity. I am actively seeking executive employment opportunities abroad—and I am fully prepared to deploy immediately to any high-risk humanitarian environments globally (such as Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, or French-speaking African nations) where my 20 years of INGO experience can be utilized.
