Hi, my name is Salam Altanna, and I am creating this campaign on behalf of my sister, Lana Altanna, a mother from Gaza.

My sister lost her home at the very beginning of the war when it was heavily damaged by bombardment. Since then, her family has been displaced multiple times, living without stability, safety, or basic necessities. There is no longer a home they can return to, and no reliable access to water, electricity, or income.

After months of displacement, she and her children were forced to move between unsafe shelters, including living in a tent under extremely harsh conditions. In September, she sought refuge in our parents’ home, believing it would finally offer some protection. Tragically, that hope was destroyed when the house was struck by a rocket. In that single moment, her youngest son was killed, and her eldest son, Mohammed, was critically injured and left fighting for his life.

Mohammed suffered severe injuries to his stomach, lungs, and esophagus. He urgently needs ongoing medical treatment, medications, and multiple complex surgeries. He is unable to eat normally or live independently, and his recovery depends entirely on continuous care that my sister cannot afford.

Beyond the medical crisis, my sister has no source of income following the war. She is struggling to provide even the most basic needs for her children. The funds raised through this campaign will be used to:

Her other son, Maslama, carries deep grief and loneliness after everything he has lost. Despite the trauma, he tries to continue his education and remain strong, even as fear and pain weigh heavily on him.

I am sharing my sister’s story with a broken heart. This campaign is not only about survival—it is about restoring a future. Our only hope is to protect the lives of Maslama and Mohammed, help them heal, and give them a chance to live safely, learn, and grow with dignity, as every child deserves.
