Save The Foundry - Respect Local Planning
The demolition has started. We need your support now!
Legal fights are expensive: we need to raise money to cover fees and other costs. Through the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association (SLNA), a local community group, we have filed an application for an injunction to stop demolition until we can persuade the province to reconsider its rash plan to raze the site.
The site of the Dominion Wheel & Foundries Company is the largest concentration of heritage assets remaining in the West Don Lands. A manufacturer of railway equipment, rolling stock, and foundry and machinery supplies, the company expanded and by the 1940s the buildings stretched from this location to Cherry Street. These four buildings (three and a half now) are all that's left of this thriving complex.
Please consider donating. Any amount will help to Save the Foundry.
