Hi, everyone! On Sunday 12/30/18 I woke up at 4 AM with severe abdominal pain which caused me to pass out and hit the floor twice. Since I’m still in the process of getting health insurance, I thought the better option was to go to the walk in clinic.
Any large movement like sitting or standing up was brutal, not to mention the sharp pain in my upper right chest making it difficult to breathe through the pain. I was finally able to see the PA, and when she palpated my belly, I went from a steady 8 pain level right past a 10. She promptly recommended we go to the emergency room so they could do the tests I needed to see what was really going on.
Hours passed- they did blood work, multiple ultrasounds, an x Ray, CT Scan, and a pelvic exam with some swabbing. I definitely needed the morphine to get passed my anxiety, which is what I think was causing the chest pain.
My appendix looked good, but there seemed to be something going on in my pelvic area... an abnormal amount of blood and fluid were filling up. The OBGYN did a final exam to assess what needs to be done.. at first she thought it was either only fluid or an ovarian torsion, but she wouldn’t know for sure until we went into surgery. The procedure took about 2 hours, and when I woke, I could feel an immediate relief of pressure from my abdomen.
Turns out, I had an ovarian cyst that burst. Glad I went to have it checked out, yeah? I have a follow up appointment in three weeks to check on my progress.
Anyway, since I’m still trying to figure out my health insurance, there’s almost no way to pay this bill without stressing out about every cent. If you are able to help contribute to whatever the cost of this medical bill, I would be so grateful.
**Side Note: I have not received the full medical bill yet, but between all of the exams, surgery, and medication, I know it will not be cheap. I will do my best to update. Thank you so much.
