Help Save the Farm That Gives Animals a Second Chance

For the past seven years, my farm has been a place where animals have been given a second chance.

Through Erin Regan Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, we've helped hundreds of animals, including dogs pulled from euthanasia lists, senior animals, amputees, animals with disabilities or medical needs, intentionally abandoned animals, animals from severe abuse and neglect cases, and those who simply needed more time than a shelter could provide.

Hundreds of them have found loving forever homes.

Others remain here in sanctuary care.

Either way, they were given the chance they might not have received elsewhere.

Today, I find myself facing one of the biggest challenges of my life.

Three years ago, my husband left and moved across the country. Overnight, I became solely responsible for the massive amount of physical work required to keep the farm running, maintain my businesses, and cover every expense associated with this property while continuing to care for the animals who depend on it.

Since then, I have fought every single day to keep going.

Financially and physically, it has been exhausting.

Some months I caught up. Some months I fell behind. But somehow, I always found a way.

Rescue donations cover veterinary care, food, and supplies for the animals.

But I am a volunteer for the rescue.

I do not receive a salary from Erin Regan Animal Sanctuary & Rescue.

To pay the mortgage, utilities, insurance, and my personal bills, I rely entirely on income from my two online businesses, Run Motivators and Bee Bubble Couture.

Unfortunately, between a challenging economy and the reality that the animals always come first, there are never enough hours in the day to keep up with everything. My ability to devote time to the businesses that support me has often taken a back seat to the animals' needs.

That balancing act has become increasingly difficult, and the business income I rely on to keep this farm running has become inconsistent.

Unfortunately, I am now three mortgage payments behind and facing the possibility of foreclosure.

The immediate need is approximately $7,100 in past-due mortgage payments, plus any legal fees that may be added by the bank. I have been told that if I can make a substantial payment, there is a possibility they may allow me to enter another payment plan and avoid foreclosure proceedings.

I am doing everything I can.

I am working around the clock.

I am creating new products, launching promotions, increasing my marketing efforts, selling personal belongings, and pursuing every legitimate opportunity I can find to generate income.

I am not sitting back and hoping someone else solves this problem. I am fighting for it.

At the same time, I am continuing to care for the animals, manage adoptions, and work toward a long-term solution.

That long-term solution is Pennsylvania.

My dream is to relocate the rescue closer to my family and friends and the huge support system I have in PA – AND purchase a smaller fixer-upper property outright. Owning a property free and clear would ensure that a bank can NEVER again threaten the animals' home.

This fundraising goal reflects that dream.

At $300,000, the goal is less than the current mortgage payoff on this property and would allow us to purchase a modest property outright, relocate the rescue, and create a more sustainable future – one that allows the rescue to continue giving second chances to animals in need of them without the black cloud of foreclosure constantly looming over us.

If it does not reach its goal, any funds raised will still be used to catch up overdue mortgage payments, avoid foreclosure if possible, keep the farm operating, and buy time while I continue working toward a solution.

Because Erin Regan Animal Sanctuary & Rescue is a 501(c)(3), rescue donations cannot legally be used for mortgage payments or personal expenses. Rescue funds are reserved exclusively for animal care, veterinary expenses, food, supplies, and rescue operations. We maintain a strict separation between personal and rescue finances and utilize a third-party bookkeeper to ensure all funds are properly documented and accounted for.

This fundraiser is intended to help me keep the property, avoid foreclosure, and continue providing a home for the animals who depend on it while I work toward a permanent solution.

This is NOT a fundraiser for the nonprofit.

Those who wish to support the animals directly can continue donating through Erin Regan Animal Sanctuary & Rescue's established fundraising channels, where donations are used for veterinary care, food, supplies, housing, and the ongoing care of the animals.

Both forms of support are deeply appreciated and help us continue moving forward.

So why keep this all going and not just send the animals elsewhere?

After my mother passed away, I seriously considered closing the rescue. I was overwhelmed, grieving, and unsure how much more I could carry.

I and a team of volunteers reached out to rescues and sanctuaries across the country trying to place the animals elsewhere.

The reality was heartbreaking. Many did not reply. Those that did were already full and struggling to survive themselves.

The only animals I was able to place elsewhere were the horses and half of the donkeys through Sweet Bay Equine Rescue.

There was simply nowhere for the others to go.

That realization changed everything.

These animals still need a place.

They still need someone willing to fight for them.

With rescues and sanctuaries closing all over the country, the animals are losing their team. They are losing the people that are fighting for them. They need me. They need this rescue. They need all the help they can get.

So as long as I am able, I will continue trying to be that person that fights for them.
