Save the Elephant Pride Sanctuary!

Donation protected
In December of 2019 I had the honor of spending a day at the Elephant Pride Sanctuary just outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Interacting with elephants was at the top of my bucket list, and because of that I devoted many hours researching which sanctuary I wanted to visit. There are many ethical sanctuaries throughout Thailand, but this one in particular caught my eye. It’s a small 100% family owned ranch, that’s sole purpose is to protect a family of 4 elephants from abuse and neglect. This sanctuary is different than most in Thailand, because everyone that works with the elephants also lives on the same land the elephants roam on. (With no power, no real plumbing, none of the accommodations we take for granted… just to be with their animals 24/7)

It warmed my heart seeing the bond the animals had with their keepers. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Long story short, I’m going back on December 11th, and had reached out to the owner Chanchai, to see if there was a good day to visit when there might be less people around in order to maximize my one-on-one time with the elephants; Specifically baby Dido, who is pictured above. Unfortunately, I learned that Covid has all but forced them to close down. They rely 100% on tourism to be able to feed and care for the elephants and also feed and care for themselves. Lack of tourism has been a devastating blow financially for the entire ranch, elephants and humans alike. To make matters worse, the owners also have three young daughters who they are currently trying to keep out of the lifestyle that so many young Thai women are forced into.

They need at least $600 AMERICAN a month to feed the elephants alone and with no tourists they are on the verge of losing everything.

I want to to everything I can to help. My goal is to raise at least 2 months of funding for them to try to do my part to get them back on their feet. We take for granted the power of American currency in other countries, so even the smallest donation is so impactful not only for the elephants, but for this beautiful family.

I plan to video myself giving the proceeds to Chanchai, so everyone who donates can see the impact they’ve helped bring to these two amazing families, elephant and human alike. Thank you so much in advance for your help!❤️
