Rebuild Dutchie’s Jerk Joint – Help a Local Family Come Back Stronger
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of Kam, Carly, and their son Blaize – the incredible family behind Dutchie’s Jerk Joint, a beloved food truck that brought authentic Caribbean flavors and good vibes to Queen’s Square.
Tragically, their food truck was deliberately set on fire outside the Jubilee pub in the early hours of the morning. Even more devastating, the truck was off-road for repairs and sadly uninsured at the time, leaving them with no safety net, nothing to fall back on, and a huge financial loss. To make things worse, the nearby CCTV was turned off that night, leaving them with no footage and no answers.
This wasn’t just a food truck – it was their dream, their livelihood, and their legacy in the making for young Blaize. They poured their hearts, time, and every ounce of energy into Dutchie’s. It was a family-run business, built with passion and pride, and now it’s been reduced to ashes.
I’m setting up this fundraiser to help them recover and rebuild. Every donation – big or small – will go toward:
• Replacing the truck and essential equipment
• Covering losses and damage costs
• Supporting the family while they navigate this crisis
They’ve lost so much overnight, but with your help, we can give them a fighting chance to come back stronger. If you’ve ever tasted their food, met them at the truck, or believe in helping people through tough times, please consider donating and sharing this page.
Let’s show Kam, Carly, and Blaize that their community is behind them.
Thank you for your support.
