Save the Cap: Help Abe's Cancer Fight!
If you've ever dined at one of the Urban Family Restaurants in Historic Downtown Plano, you know Abe. He's the manager in his signature newsboy cap, welcoming you back when you dine with us, and is always there to offer you another glass (or bottle) of his new favorite wine that's on the menu.
He's been part of the Urban Family since 2009, when he joined the Urban Crust team as a server. He quickly promoted to manager, and over the last 12 years, he has been a staple at all of our restaurants, managing the teams at Urban Rio and, most recently, Urban Seafood Company.
You might not know this, but Abe battled (and eventually beat) prostate cancer back in 2018. Unfortunately, Abe has recently gotten some upsetting news. His cancer is back, and is more aggressive than last time.
Abe has been such an integral part of the Urban Family team for so many years. He's given our staff and guests so much, and we want to help give back. As Abe pursues the next steps to beat this disease (again!), we don't want finances to be a hindrance.
If you've ever dined with us, worked for or with us, or simply understand the challenges and stress that a diagnosis like this can bring, we ask that you consider donating to Abe's fundraiser. No amount is too small. Let's band together to help Abe beat this thing once and for all!
