Save the Bug Jar

** MONROE COUNTY IS NOW AN ORANGE ZONE **

- Closing High-Risk Non-Essential businesses (gyms, personal care, etc).
- Outdoor dining, takeout or delivery services only, four people maximum per table
- 10 people maximum for "mass gatherings", making it virtually impossible to sustain any business which relies on ticketed live music

The Bug Jar  has been a staple to the independent music scene of Rochester, New York since 1991.  During that time the venue has hosted the likes of The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, 1975, Mac DeMarco, Kevin Devine, Lizzo, Neutral Milk Hotel, Vampire Weekend, Caspian, Pinegrove, The Ataris, PILE, PUP, The Menzingers, MC LARS, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Touche Amore, Cherry Glazerr,  The Appleseed Cast,  Dead Meadow, All Them Witches, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, FUZZ, Ron Gallo, Now Now, El Ten Eleven and many MANY more!

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help preserve a historic venue during these hard times.  Due to the covid-19 restrictions, the venue has been unable to open and host live music since March 2020.

Since the shutdown we have applied to NIVA  (National Independent Venue Association) which is lobbying congress to pass a bill which will help struggling music venues around the United States. In the meantime, we need your help.

Funds raised from this campaign will go towards Rent and Utilities which we have not been able to keep up with since the shutdown.

- All bars must serve food (we have no capacity to which we can produce food on site & food trucks parked out front do not count)
- The concert space is a close quarters environment, due to the 6 feet social distancing rules it is not possible to have ticketed events with major touring acts which is the majority of our bookings.
- Lastly, we are nonessential.
