Save the Brockwell Park Cricket Nets!

Donation protected
Playing team sport is a brilliant way to keep healthy and support young people to stay safe and out of trouble.
The Brockwell Park cricket nets have been a much loved community sports facility for many years. Widely used by people of all ages and backgrounds, it is even well used in the winter months. The nets have supported a number of local cricket teams including a new Brockwell Park CC set up during the pandemic. With many people furloughed, the nets became an important community focal point during and post-pandemic with players using the nets to get regular exercise during lockdown and beyond.
However, the nets are in a terrible state of repair and at risk of being unusable. The netting has many holes in it, meaning people using the park including young families are at risk of being hit by a cricket ball.
We need to make important safety repairs to the nets and improve the quality of the facilities, to support grassroots cricket in the borough. With a major international cricket ground just down the road, it is crucial that we support the future cricket stars and amateur club cricketers of the future. With huge cuts to local government funding we are working with Lambeth Council and the Brockwell Park Community Partners to raise much needed funds to repair the nets.
Whatever you can give, large or small is hugely appreciated!
