Please help protect a 250 year old heritage Black Oak Tree on Bones Rd.

We are Bones Road neighbors in Sebastopol in west Sonoma County.

Our neighbor has been working to save a 250 year-old heritage Black Oak Tree on the edge of her property for the last couple of years from being cut down because of the risk it poses to the power lines. The tree is protected under Sonoma County ordinance 6469, but utilities have an exemption.

Earlier this spring, a group of us got involved to try to lend our support to her efforts and we were able to come up with a plan to re-route the power line, thereby protecting the tree and eliminating the concern about its proximity to the wires.

We need to raise $2800 to run the lines underground , a neighbor is generously granting an easement. Prior to starting this GFM campaign, we have $3600 pledged from neighbors, which was enough to get the ball rolling with permits and deposits. So now we need to raise the remaining $2800 to ensure the future of the tree and get the line moved underground.

The Bones Rd. Black Oak is a beauty, standing at the gateway to the neighborhood.

Please help us preserve its majesty for generations to come!
