Hi, my name is Jessie, and I am the younger sister/sister-in-law of Andy and Jess, owners of 18-month-old golden retriever Teddy. If anyone knows my brother and Jess, they know how obsessed they are with their two beautiful dogs. They give them the best life out in Chattanooga, TN; fishing, hiking and exploring. Unfortunately, this last week they have run into a huge emergency. Their youngest dog Ted has been extremely sick, and they found out today that it is believed that he ingested blue algae from the lake and has severe liver damage. The vets gave him a 20% survival rate, and he will need immense care to make it through. The first step is 24/7 acute care and a blood transfusion- if he makes it through the transfusion, he will need continued care. The cost of the acute care will be astronomical. Neither of them has asked for a cent, but with their wedding coming up in only two weeks (Ted was supposed to be in the wedding!) the LAST thing they need to be worried about are the vet bills.
