Hello, thank you for taking a moment to read about Teddy!

I brought Teddy home when he was 8 weeks old. He is now 11 months. He is a Chihuahua. I got him to keep me company and he has been the best friend ever.

Five weeks ago, I was putting him down in his playpen like always, and he leapt from my arms. When he landed, he broke the two bones in his right leg. I rushed him to the emergency vet, and they put him in a cast and told me two days later that the surgeon looked at his X-ray and recommended surgery to insert pins in the bones. They gave me a $6000.00 estimate. The next day, I took him to his regular vet, and she thought because of him being so young, his bones might rejoin on their own. Yesterday was his first X-ray after four weeks in the cast. His vet came in and said his bones are not coming back together, and she now thinks he needs the surgery. I was really stunned because he seemed to be coming along well, not having pain and walking some. She recommended an orthopedic surgeon nearby, and I have not talked to them yet, but his regular vet said she thought the surgery would be $3500.00. The only other option is amputation, and I really can't stand the thought of that. I have a friend who paid the emergency vet bill of $700.00, and a niece who paid the $357.00 for the recent X-ray, but we have no way to pay for his surgery, so we are asking for help for Teddy. Bless his heart, I don't want him to suffer. Please help him if you can, please share if you can't. Teddy says thank you!!
