Save Taylor Townsend From Eviction!

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Taylor Townsend and I'm one of many writers facing homelessness after the 2023 Writers Guild of America Strike. Two weeks ago, to my horror, I received an eviction notice on my door. This comes at a time where I’m already facing financial hardship; I can’t even afford groceries. Luckily, support for February’s rent came through from the Emergency Renters Assistance Program. However, I am still facing homelessness and I’m reaching out for your support so that I can stay housed for the next couple months.

A bit more about me, I work in film as a writer. You may have seen my work in 4400, a TV show in which I created the non-binary character, Noah Harris. Like many other people in the film industry, I was financially devastated by the writers’ and actors’ strike, the biggest strike in film history so far which put me out of work for months. I’m so proud of what we achieved with that strike and the gains we made, but as the industry recovers I find myself in financial ruin and barely scraping by. I have no family to rely on as I am estranged due to extensive mental, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. My friends and chosen family have been a great help up to this point, but unfortunately, this time it’s not enough. I’ve been doing my best to make ends meet all these years but it's come to the point where I must ask for help in order to survive.

I’ve had the great fortune to find work and I just finished writing a script for a production that is planned to be filmed soon! I’m optimistic about my future prospects, I just need your help bridging the gap over the next two months. I have no idea how I am going to make it otherwise. If you help me raise $9,000, your money will go towards: a roof over my head for the months of March and April, groceries, medication for seizures and bipolar disorder, as well as therapy for PTSD. Along with this financial security comes the opportunity to finally start my journey creating content about my experience being trafficked, including a personal project I’m writing, in order to raise awareness and fight against child sex trafficking.

If you could give anything to help, whether that be $1, $5, or $10, you have no idea how much that would mean to me. If you can’t donate anything, sharing this helps just as much. Thank you so much for reading my story, I could not have made it this far without all of your support!
