Save Tank: Urgent Surgery Needed for Beloved Pet

Hi, I’m Brandi, and I’m reaching out for help.

Tank is a 5.5-year-old American Bully, very sweet and passive. He was attacked last night in his own home by a foreign dog that ran through the front door. He was left with a 6-inch long gaping hole on his chest that is a half-inch wide.

I took him to the ER Vet, and he needs surgery and a drain tube followed by sutures and medication to make it. They are sending me an hour away tomorrow to The Red Barn Veterinary Clinic to finish being treated and to undergo the needed surgery.

His surgery will cost anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000, thankfully, as the ER Vet asked triple the amount. I need help to get my baby’s chest sewn back up. Tank has lived a long life before he was with me, and he doesn’t deserve to suffer anymore. I want to provide the best life I can for him no matter what.

Tank's story:

Tank used to have a different name, a name that makes my stomach turn just to hear how heartless and disgusting people are. He was a “Highway Panhandler's Dog” for (what I know) all of his life. He was walked 24/7 and was witnessed as “the dog they dragged around.” He came with the name “Paid” because when he was around, they got paid. After watching him for years, my best friend called me and told me the owners abandoned him, and he had been walking around by himself for days. I took him in as my third rescue this past year and made him a part of my family. He didn’t know what a squeaky toy was, never laid on a couch, and was scared to even come inside at first. He hates to be alone and will go as far as starving himself if he has to eat alone. He follows me around all day long and never sits down. He is kind to my twin boys, and he is the most loyal protector I’ve ever had. Anyone that comes close to my children, he stands between them.

Tank was named due to his stature and size, being such a strong big boy. He doesn’t deserve to go through any more trauma, and he deserves to be fixed up to live the rest of his life inside a loving home. I just want to see him smile and be healthy to live the rest of his existence outside of the hell he’s endured.
