Help Save Tamisha’s Life: Support Her Fight Against High-Risk MDS
My sister, Tamisha, is fighting a life-threatening battle with high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), a rare group of blood cancers that attack the bone marrow. In MDS, the bone marrow’s blood-forming stem cells become abnormal, failing to produce healthy red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets. This leads to dangerously low blood cell counts, making Tamisha extremely vulnerable to infections and severe bleeding from even minor injuries. Her condition is made even more critical by genetic mutations that increase her risk and the likelihood of progressing to acute myeloid leukemia, a more aggressive form of blood cancer.
Tamisha’s cancer affects all three blood cell types—red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets—leaving her in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant to survive. This transplant is her best hope, but finding a matching donor is critical, and the financial burden is overwhelming.
We are reaching out with two urgent requests:
Join the Fight to Save Tamisha’s Life:
If you are between the ages of 18 and 35, please visit BeTheMatch.org to register as a potential bone marrow donor. The process is simple—they’ll send you a testing kit to swab your cheek, no doctor’s visit required. In many cases, donating marrow is as straightforward as a blood donation, without the need for surgery. Doctors prefer donors aged 18–35 because younger cells offer the best chance for a successful transplant. Your selfless act could be the miracle Tamisha needs.
Support Tamisha’s Medical and Financial Needs:
The costs of Tamisha’s treatment, including hospital stays, medications, and the transplant process, are immense. Additionally, her inability to work due to her condition has led to a significant loss of income, and frequent travel for specialized medical care adds to the financial strain. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help cover these expenses, including medical bills, travel costs, and the loss of income that threatens her stability during this challenging time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in her fight for life.
Tamisha is a fighter, but she can’t do this alone. Your generosity, whether through registering as a donor or contributing to her medical and living expenses, could give her the chance to overcome this aggressive cancer.
Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and community to help us spread the word.
Thank you for standing with Tamisha and our family during this difficult time. Together, we can give her hope and a fighting chance.
