Help Sweet Pea Heal: A Tiny Kitten’s Fight for Life

Sweet Pea is a tiny, gentle soul weighing just 3.5 pounds. A kitten who’s already endured more pain than most ever will. Her feral mother brought her and her sibling to our front porch, where we feed and care for several stray cats in our neighborhood. We quickly fell in love with Sweet Pea’s shy but trusting nature. She would watch from a distance, curious but cautious, slowly learning that kindness existed in the world.

But one day, we noticed something was terribly wrong. Sweet Pea’s back legs were inverted, and she was swollen at the base of her tail. At first, there were no visible wounds, but over time, the infection became painfully obvious and began to spread.

We rushed her to the vet, where she received an antibiotic injection, rabies vaccine, saline flush for her wounds, and Revolution Plus for fleas, ticks, and worms. She’s now safe inside, resting and healing, but her recovery will take time, care, and additional veterinary visits.

Unfortunately, we’re at our financial limit. We live in a small one-room home, and my husband works nights. We’ve already taken in another stray who was dying on the street, and the cost of saving him required opening a 0% APR credit card we’re still paying off. I’m currently working part-time and searching for full-time work, but we simply can’t cover Sweet Pea’s ongoing medical needs without help.

We believe every life matters, especially the ones that depend on us most. With the right care, we can give Sweet Pea the chance she deserves: to heal, grow strong, and one day be adopted into a loving home.
