Save sweet Kiera-still fighting to recover from the ER

Hi, I’m Nancy, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my daughter Nicole and her beloved dog, Kiera.

When Nicole moved to Florida to begin a new chapter in life, she rescued Kiera—a sweet, loving dog who quickly became her whole world. Nicole doesn’t have children yet, so Kiera truly is her baby, especially after the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of her first dog, Kalli, a few years ago.

Recently, Kiera was rushed to the ER where over four liters of fluid had to be drained from her abdomen. That was just the beginning of a devastating series of events. She was prescribed medications at dangerously high doses, and when Nicole raised concerns, her vet dismissed her. As a result, Kiera’s condition rapidly declined—her electrolytes dropped, she became severely dehydrated, and eventually couldn’t even stand or walk.

She’s been hospitalized ever since, fighting to recover. After many ups and downs, she was diagnosed with a GI ulcer that required emergency surgery. The vet team wasn’t sure she’d survive the procedure—but she did. Kiera is a fighter.

As of now, Kiera is still hospitalized and continuing to receive round-the-clock care. The emotional toll has been enormous, and so have the vet bills. Nicole has poured everything she has into saving Kiera’s life, but the costs have now exceeded what she can manage alone.
