Hi everyone, my name is Sara and I’m writing today because my cat, Sushi, urgently needs medical help. Sushi has been with me for a year and an half and has brought so much joy, comfort, and love into my life. He is more than a pet , he’s family.

Recently, Sushi was staying with a friend while I was away. When I picked him up, I noticed something was wrong: his voice was gone and he seemed off. I rushed him to an emergency vet, but they told me nothing looked obviously wrong. I left hoping it was just a passing issue.

But the very next day, things got so much worse; Sushi started throwing up, drooling, panting, and wheezing. He was clearly very sick and deteriorating quickly. I took him back to the emergency room where they ran x-rays and blood work. The vet told me his intestines appeared to be “jumbled up,” though they couldn’t yet identify exactly what was causing the problem. They told me the next step is an ultrasound, and surgery may be needed to remove whatever is stuck and causing the obstruction.

At this point, I’m facing urgent costs for: costs of X-rays and bloodwork and an ultrasound to identify the obstruction, possibly surgery and post-op care if that’s needed extended monitoring, medication, and recovery for Sushi

I’m doing everything I can for him, but the financial burden is more than I can cover alone right now. That’s why I’m turning to this amazing community for help.
