Pupdate! Stitch's surgery was successful. He is home and eating well. He can relieve himself on his own and will be on crate rest for 6 weeks. Again, THANK YOU to everyone who has shared or donated.
Hello. We adopted Stitch from Saving Hope Rescue. It was love at first sight. He was a perfectly healthy hairless Frenchie puppy. Thursday morning, he woke up hunched over and stiff. We rushed him to the vet. After LOTS of tests, bloodwork, etc., we ended up at the ER at midnight. The neurologist confirmed our worst fear: spinal injury that requires surgery. $10,999.38 to be exact. Insurance only covers a tiny portion.
He is our child. We unconditionally love Stitch. He is only 1 year old, and the thought of him living in a wheelchair for the rest of his very full life is something we don't want to do to our happy, loving baby. He is our family. This is for anyone who has something to help as we navigate the expenses. If you are an animal lover, a dog mom, or just someone who knows how hard and fiercely Colby and I love our dogs, please, anything helps us. ANYTHING. Thank you.
