Stacy, a 40 year old single mother needs our help. My friend Stacy is amongst the small percentage of people who we can truly call a hero. At age 15 Stacy dedicated her life to unselfishly giving and caring for others who could not take care of themselves. The way she cared for others, from basic needs to end of life care, can only have originated from a heart full of grace and love. For Stacy it was not just a job. She would often say "it is a gift to me that I can do this for others when they need it most." I've learned a lot about love from my friend Stacy. But now, it's time the caregiver receives care. 

7 years ago Stacy began experiencing severe pain and weakness due to a mysterious muscle disease that causes ALS like symptoms and paralysis. Over that 7 year period Stacy's health progressively declined to the point of recent hospitalization.  This week she received a tracheotomy that will support her ability to breath on her own again without the use of a ventilator. The doctor's strategy is to slowly wean her off the ventilator through ongoing rehabilitation services. 

For the past decade Stacy and her 15 year old son Cayden lived on the most mercury polluted lake in the world. We feel that there is a strong possibility that this disease might have been caused by a combination of environmental toxicity and lack of health resources in that area. We are optimistic, and with your help, if Stacy is able to relocate to a less polluted area with access to rehabilitation services, she can get the support that she needs to regain her health and quality of life back. 

Insurance barely covers the costs associated with Stacy's medical needs.  So I ask, please help us give to someone who has dedicated her life to giving to others.
