Please help us save St Peter’s Church building. A beautiful building located on the Pennine moorland between Leeds and Manchester.
We aim to transform this historic venue into a place for everyone to use for celebrations, events, relaxing, work and play - turning the space into the Village Venue @St Peters.
St Peter’s has stood in place since the mid-19th century, and was lovingly rebuilt after a devastating fire; it is a symbol of resilience and heritage in our landscape.
We can only save the building from property development or demolition if we can get essential work done to fix the roof, update electrics and plumbing, provide sensitive and suitable access and turn the interior into a warm, welcoming and flexible space. The building will become a community charity managed venue open to all.
We need to raise what’s been estimated at £680,000 to fund the renovation and construction, to make the building safe and, to transform the interior. It is a lot. We believe this is achievable step by step to save this landmark building for Walsden and beyond for 100s of years in future.
We will apply for funding and grants, but we really need your help whether you are a long term local, new to or passing through Walsden or if you live on the other side of the world and you care about what we are trying to achieve with this special building.
Whether you donate 50p, £5, £500 or more, every single donation helps!
