Help Us Protect St John's Fields — We Need Your Support

Discover the latest progress in our campaign to safeguard St John's Fields from looming development threats. These cherished green spaces are more than just scenic—they're vital habitats for wildlife, havens for leisure, and part of the natural heritage that defines our community.

The St John's Residents' Association in conjunction with the St Johns Fields Action Group has been actively engaging with local stakeholders to raise awareness and build momentum. We've hosted several well-attended community meetings to discuss the risks posed by proposed developments and to coordinate our response. Volunteers will soon begin collecting signatures for our petition—a powerful statement to Colchester City Council that these fields hold real meaning for our community.

Now, we’re entering a crucial phase. To strengthen our case and formally challenge the development plans, we urgently need to raise £10,000 to commission a professional planning report. This expert document will be submitted to Colchester City Council and will provide the technical and legal foundation needed to protect our fields effectively.

The response so far has been inspiring—residents are stepping forward, environmental groups are offering support, and the momentum is growing. But we can't do this without your help. With approximately 4,500 households in St Johns, even a small contribution from each would take us well beyond our target.

Every contribution brings us closer to preserving St John's Fields for future generations.
