While on a road trip to Mexico last week, my kids and I rescued a 12 week old puppy in the town of San Javier. He had been poisoned and in an attempt to save him, a local man cut the tips off of his ears to bleed the poison out of his body as fast as he could. He then passed him off to me hopeful that I could give him a chance of survival that he could not offer. We of course fell in love fast while simultaneously realizing that so much was wrong. My daughter and I pulled 70 ticks off of his 7 pound body before loosing count. He is only skin and bone and threw up tin foil and other garbage that he had in jested and there were worms and blood in his poop. None the less we raced him back across the border to get vet care. He has tested positive for parvovirus and is anemic as a result of the tick infestation. He is at vet emergency under 24hr care being treated for parvovirus and is in need of a blood transfusion. He has already received, dewormer, flea and tick prevention, fluids and anti nausea medication. We ask for any financial help people can offer as we will not give up on trying to give this pup a second chance.
Thank you in advance.
