Save Soup the cat

Hello, my name is Will and my cat, Soup, has been experiencing medical issues that were exasperated by stress from enduring Hurricane Helene. We live in Asheville, NC and have had a rough couple weeks. After two ER visits, Soup was suspected to have idiopathic feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). He was given a catheter to clear his bladder and medicine to help with his recovery. Soup has since been continuing to struggle with urinating and will more than likely need more vet visits and possibly a surgery called perineal urethrostomy, in which the problematic segment of urethra is removed.

Soup means the world to me and others he has come in contact with, often being praised as the sweetest cat they have met. He’s a fan of cuddling under the blankets, fighting you for a bite of your food, and snoozing the day away. I would do anything for my boy, but funds have been tight from being out work due to the hurricane. I have since returned to work in the area with an arborist helping clear fallen trees off of houses in the community, but two ER visits along with regular bills and lack of paycheck recently have made going for another visit difficult.
