Our 2006 Ford E350 lovingly referred to as "The Pony" served as a storm chaser van for years. Tornado wrangling, hail tracking, even serving rescue missions for the Kentucky fire department. These years, combined with our touring miles have worn down some of the van's vital components and our band account is not equipped to cover the repairs - Unfortunately, just 2 weeks before our east coast tour.
In all of our years as a band, while none of us have taken home a paycheck, the band has been entirely self-sustaining (gas, merch, recording costs) and we're very proud of that. In order to do this, we all work multiple jobs and count our pennies until tour so that the band can live off of the money from shows, merch etc during that time.
We're sincerely in a bind and we need your help.
The Pony needs a new transmission as well as brakes, a computer error diagnosed and two door locks replaced.
"Why not buy a different van for that money?"
Well, this certainly crossed our minds and we're glad you asked. When we bought the van in 2020, used car prices were on the rise but cargo and passenger vans increased exponentially more than most vehicle models. This trend has not slowed down. We bought the van for a decent price, it has low miles and we know we can always get parts for it. Finding something comparable, in similar shape to replace The Pony would cost closer to twice of what we're asking.
The hope is that after these repairs we can move to touring more full time and we need this van to get to you! We realize this is a monumental ask, but our funding goals being fulfilled would quite literally enable us to keep this cycle of making music going: We tour, we save the money, we record music, we pay the engineers and creatives involved.
Thank you for any donation, help or support of any kind.
Lovingly,
Soot
