I’m sad to say that last week we found out, my sweet Snuggles has a large bladder stone. The clinic took X-rays of her bladder, and the stone is estimated to be 6.9 cm. They offered to schedule the surgery in May, but it will cost around $1,700 including post surgical medicines. If we can get her the surgery, her prognosis is good. A very important factor in the mean time, is to put her on a strict diet of Royal Canin SO. It’s a very expensive dry dog food, but it’s the one that the clinic thinks will have the best chance of preventing further growth on the stone. If the stone becomes bigger, it could prevent her from urinating, and then that would be an immediate surgery or possibly fatal. I’ve had my sweet Snuggles for 8 years, and I want to try my best to not lose her. I don’t like to post publicly for help, but this time I am just needing to ask for any help, that any one can offer, no amount would be too small.
