Save Skyler: Urgent Surgery Needed

Hey guys! My name is Ilana and I’m a proud mama of 2 beautiful pups, Skyler (Bulldog mix) and Luna (Pit mix). I love them more than anything in this world. They are my children, best friends, and therapists! They make my day every day. No matter how bad the day could get or how bad of a mood I can get into, they always manage to make me smile and turn the day into a great one. However, today is my day to show my pups how much I care and how grateful I am to have them in my life.

Today is a really bad day because Skyler, my oldest, is really sick! He started feeling sick last night. He didn’t eat his dinner and this morning started to throw up. He has thrown up multiple times, mostly bile and water. This morning, he passed a little stool that looked hard as rocks. Thankfully, he has been drinking a lot of water, which is good, but he is mostly just resting and has no energy to do anything. We are 99% sure he ate something and now he has an obstruction. This has happened to Skyler in the past and the symptoms are exactly the same. The only way to help him is to take him to the animal hospital for an ultrasound to confirm where the obstruction is and then take him straight to surgery. However, before anything can be done, we have to pay the cost of the ultrasound, surgery, and aftercare upfront.

Unfortunately, at this time, I don’t have the funds to help him. I’ve tried multiple other options but am unable to get the funds needed to help. If I had any other options, I would not be on here asking for your help. Based on my phone call with BluePearl Animal Hospital, the ultrasound, surgery, and aftercare will cost from $5,500 (lower end) to $8,000 (higher end). What they usually do is make you pay the number in the middle of the lower and higher number upfront. Then, if they charge more, you are responsible for the balance, or if it’s less, they reimburse you. It’s definitely not cheap and they don’t allow any payment plans.

So yes, I’m asking for everyone’s help. If you can find it in your heart to donate, even a couple of bucks, it will help tremendously. And hopefully, all together, it will add up to the amount that’s needed for the surgery. Please help me save my baby’s life. He’s such a funky, playful, loving pup with such an amazing personality. He can still have many more years to live and enjoy life! Again, anything helps, and I would be eternally grateful to you all.
