Save Skerningham Woodland and Farmland
Donation protected
A beautiful area on the northern edge of Darlington, County Durham, is threatened with development. This is the last refuge for red and amber list birds as well as deer, foxes and other wildlife, who all live and frequent the woodland and farmland. Skerningham Woodland Action Group are looking for your support for our fundraising appeal. We wish to have a professional documentary made that will highlight the reasons to protect the areas from development and engage support from our community and beyond. We also want to present it to the Government Inspector in May, when the decision on the Darlington Local Plan will be taken and the future of this area determined. Additionally, funds are being sought to finance an independent ecological survey, taken at optimum times to record local notable species and their habitat.
The cost of both of these amount to £2000. Please help us by donating to this cause. Your donation could mean the difference between the continued natural beauty and peace of this area or the bulldozer!
All money raised will be processed via Darlington Friends of the Earth bank account, who have kindly allowed us to use it for this campaign.
