SIP RECOVERY FUND: To continue connecting communities to hope, one cup at a time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced everyone to make tough decisions, including us at Sip of Hope. In order to protect the health and safety of our employees and community, Sip of Hope halted operations on 3/16/2020.
And with no income coming into the shop, Sip of Hope received emergency funding from our parent company, Hope For The Day :
- To provide financial security to employees until unemployment benefits are received
- To pay current debts to all vendors (90% of which are Chicago small businesses) and cover current minimal operating costs
But those funds are going to run out soon, and we need your help.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
- It brings our staff back to work and responsibly provides financial stability as the shelter in place order is lifted
- It pays for the fixed costs of doing business like rent and utilities
- It replenishes the inventory that spoiled during the shutdown, or was donated to Chicago's front line essential workers
WHY A GOFUNDME?
We have investigated and applied to multiple funding opportunities. In total, Sip of Hope has applied for over $180,000 in relief funds from sources ranging from private funding to the SBA Payroll Protection Program. In all cases, due to the overwhelming amount of applicants, we have received no funding to date.
WE CANNOT BE ANOTHER CHICAGO MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCE THAT SHUTS ITS DOORS!
PLEASE HELP SAVE SIP!
Sip of Hope Coffee Bar opened May 3rd, 2018, as Hope For The Day’s flagship mental health outreach program in honor of May being Mental Health Month. Sip of Hope serves amazing coffee as well as a proactive platform connecting communities to hope, one cup at a time. In the past 2 amazing years, we have served 75,000+ community members and distributed over 60,000 mental health resources!
To acknowledge those who can make larger donations at this time, we would like to honor those who pledge $1,000.00 or more by including your name or company in the "supported by" section in our printed Chicago mental health resource guides. $2,500.00 or more, your name or company will be included on our donor wall within Sip of Hope as well.
