Hello, welcome to our story.
We are Singleshot Leeds, an independent business owned and run by Paul & Rob.
We incorporate coffee, vinyl, local art, live music venue and general hangout under one roof in Leeds city centre.
Since we opened in November 2016 after many months of careful planning we have had nothing but 5 star reviews across all platforms be it google, facebook, trip advisor etc.
We quickly gained a reputation as a laid back coffee shop with good vibes, catering for everyones nutritional and lifestyle choices.
The music aspect then slowly gained momentum after having regular acoustic shows weekly to something much more, housing full band performances from some of the UK and the worlds best up and coming acts.
Sadly it has not all been plain sailing for us, after many set backs from things such as the rent doubling and the business rates increasing, this meaning us not taking wages to keep the shop afloat, without these aspects we were doing steady business and excited for the next chapter of Singleshot.
The last 6 months trade have shown us that our customer base is increasing daily, but sadly not enough to pay the arrears on our rent and rates as well as the current bills. We have been served an notice with effect of 2 weeks if we can not come to a satisfactory agreement.
We have tried all possible avenues to raise money, record fairs, promotions, collaborations etc, but they have not been enough.
We have become something more than just another shop, we have become a sort of a community and family.
As an independent business, seeing a lot of major high street shops fall, we do not want to fall by the wayside too, this is something we have worked extremely hard for and the expenses were out of our hands so early in our trading years.
There is much more that goes on behind the scenes of Singleshot bearing in mind we are a 2 person operation, everything from accounting to arranging shows, to helping the community around us.
We have a very very small time frame to flip this around, but we are NOT dead yet.
We need this money and your help to survive and without it we simply will not be able to continue.
We would never be able to pay back the generosity if you donate, but you would have our eternal gratitude and love, if you have visited the shop before you will know every single person is greeted with a smile and a chat!
