Sig is a german shepherd that belongs to Cody Lemire a paramedic and firefighter in CT. Cody rescued SIG three years ago and they have formed a bond that does not deserve to end so soon. As Cody said"I didn't rescue you.. you rescued me." Sig is his child and a staple in his life. For many first responders our animals are undeniably important for our well being and that is why we need to help give Sig a chance. Cody has dedicated his life to saving others and now himand Sig are in need. Last night (2/7/18) Sig was admit to Ocean View Animal Hospitals ICU with a diagnosis of auto immune hemolytic anemia. This condition carries a 50% survival rate and requires intensive therapies such as blood transfusions, steroids, and anticoagulants. As you can guess this comes at a cost with initial treatments coming in at $4500+.
Side note.. I Cody is a co-worker of mine.
