After helping as part of the build team at Bellingham Arts and Music Festival, Sibel took a tumble from a treehouse, 35 feet up in the air. She broke her pelvis, wrist, and sternum, ruptured her liver and bladder, and also bruised her lungs. She had to get helicopter lifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA where she stayed for 11 days. Her total recovery process will take up to 1 year. She had to get her pelvis fused back to her lumbar spine with 5 screws and a plate. Her wrist now has 3 screws and a plate in it as well. She has had to see multiple specialists and fly back to New York (where she lives) upon discharge from the hospital to continue treatment. In the next few months she will be working with a hand specialist, an orthopedic doctor, physical and occupational therapists, psychiatrists, and her primary care physician to regain full mobility. Currently she is unable to walk, and has had to purchase specialized medical equipment to be able to acclimate to her new living situation at home. Medical bills have already started to roll in, and being that she loses her insurance in three months when she turns 26, and cannot work in the condition she is currently in, she is reaching out to YOU for help.
Sibel has danced, practiced yoga, and worked for multiple years in music production, she is an aspiring stage designer and also designs leatherwork using a laser printer. She has been developing clothing designs and continuing to sketch during her rehabilitation, but until her body is back to normal she will not be able to partake fully in her passions.
We love you and appreciate your support. <3
