HELP!! Save Showstars Dance Studio – Our Town’s Beating Heart Washed Away by Flood
I’m not just a parent—I’m one of the many grateful voices of a community that’s been forever changed by Showstars Dance Academy.
Last week, our small rural town was hit by a devastating and unthinkable event: over 8 inches of rain fell in a single day, flooding and destroying our beloved dance studio. Showstars was left submerged, with the floors buckling, walls soaked with mold, and equipment damaged.
We are asking for funds to help rebuild and sustain Showstars before it’s too late. The floors alone will cost more than $30,000, and with water damage worsening by the day, we are in a race against time.
But this plea is about so much more than wood floors and walls.
This is about saving a lifeline for our children.
The Soul of a Struggling Community
For over 25 years, Showstars has been a beacon in our rural, low-income area—a place where every child is welcomed and celebrated. Whether they have a disability, are struggling emotionally, or can’t afford to pay, Showstars finds a way to include everyone in need.
They don’t turn children away. They turn them into dancers. Into confident, joyful, resilient young people.
In a town that’s already endured so much—including a catastrophic tornado just two years ago that destroyed over 300 homes and already stretched resources to rebuild—Showstars has been one of the few constants, offering stability, joy, and hope when everything else felt broken.
My Daughter’s Story
When my daughter was diagnosed with severe dyslexia, she had to switch schools and lost all her friends. She spiraled emotionally, but Showstars gave her a lifeline.
The moment she stepped into that studio, she was no longer the “kid who couldn’t read fast enough.” She was part of something. She had teammates. She had a stage. She had a family. She belonged.
That foundation kept her smiling and stable during the hard times. That studio didn’t just teach her steps—it gave her self-worth. And she’s not alone. I’ve seen Showstars do the same for child after child after child.
We Were Not Prepared
No one anticipated this flood. In a region that’s already economically strained and still recovering from past disasters, flood insurance wasn’t considered a necessity—until now. We will secure it going forward if we can rebuild. But right now, we’re in survival mode.
We are a small town. We don’t have big foundations or celebrity donors.
But we do have each other—and we’re turning to you.
✨ How You Can Help
We need thousands to restore Showstars. Every dollar will go directly toward repairs, rebuilding, and making sure no child loses this safe haven.
Even if you can’t give, please share this story. Post it. Email it. Text it. Help us make noise. Help us make this go viral.
Showstars has given so much to so many with so little. Now I’m asking for help—for the first time, and maybe the last.
Let’s rebuild this place of joy, resilience, and belonging—together.
Donate. Share. Help our children keep dancing.
